I'm not entirely sure what the user did, but it seems pretty clear the
"bug" (if there is a bug) has nothing absolutely to do with e2fsprogs.

It may be that blkid is getting confused, or maybe the user was getting
confused, but whatever the problem is, it has nothing to do with
e2fsprogs!
