I have a similar problem. Networkmanager says connected, but sometimes there is no DNS configurated, so there is no working connection.
It would be better to retry the connection until a working connection is in place. Here is a output of what happened: pat...@ubuntu:~$ nm-tool NetworkManager Tool State: connected ** (process:2935): WARNING **: Tried to set deprecated property gsm/band - Device: ttyUSB0 [3 Bredband] ------------------------------------------------ Type: Mobile Broadband (GSM) Driver: option1 State: connected Default: yes Capabilities: IPv4 Settings: Address: 95.209.51.197 Prefix: 32 (255.255.255.255) Gateway: 10.64.64.64 pat...@ubuntu:~$ nslookup www.dn.se ;; connection timed out; no servers could be reached pat...@ubuntu:~$ nslookup www.dn.se ;; connection timed out; no servers could be reached pat...@ubuntu:~$ nm-tool NetworkManager Tool State: connected ** (process:2966): WARNING **: Tried to set deprecated property gsm/band - Device: ttyUSB0 [3 Bredband] ------------------------------------------------ Type: Mobile Broadband (GSM) Driver: option1 State: connected Default: yes Capabilities: IPv4 Settings: Address: 95.209.51.197 Prefix: 32 (255.255.255.255) Gateway: 10.64.64.64 pat...@ubuntu:~$ route -n Kernel IP routing table Destination Gateway Genmask Flags Metric Ref Use Iface 10.64.64.64 0.0.0.0 255.255.255.255 UH 0 0 0 ppp0 169.254.0.0 0.0.0.0 255.255.0.0 U 1000 0 0 ppp0 0.0.0.0 10.64.64.64 0.0.0.0 UG 0 0 0 ppp0 pat...@ubuntu:~$ nslookup www.dn.se ;; connection timed out; no servers could be reached pat...@ubuntu:~$ nslookup www.dn.se ;; connection timed out; no servers could be reached pat...@ubuntu:~$ nm-tool NetworkManager Tool State: connected ** (process:3094): WARNING **: Tried to set deprecated property gsm/band - Device: ttyUSB0 [3 Bredband] ------------------------------------------------ Type: Mobile Broadband (GSM) Driver: option1 State: connected Default: yes Capabilities: IPv4 Settings: Address: 95.209.67.230 Prefix: 32 (255.255.255.255) Gateway: 10.64.64.64 DNS: 80.251.201.177 DNS: 80.251.201.178 pat...@ubuntu:~$ -- Unable to connect, DNS error https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/468559 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
