I have an Identical setup. Do you have the cable that goes from the front of the machine to the back? I took my cable from my XPS 700 which is now DEAD, and took the weird jumper cable off the front of the unit. Then installed the cable from the front mic/headphone input to the white connector on the card.
Unfortunately there are still some weird things going on with my Microphone especially with Teamspeak.
