I see this bug with a logitech cordless desktop wave pro keyboard and mouse. When the mouse stops working, special keys on the keyboard also cease to function. It happens with any window manager, gnome, kde or xmonad. Restarting X will occasiaonally fix it. Usually a reboot is required. I can provide any logs, please let me know.
