Can you please try to remove the second part of your
/etc/network/interface that it looks just like this (after you did a
backup of the file):

# This file describes the network interfaces available on your system
# and how to activate them. For more information, see interfaces(5).

# The loopback network interface
auto lo
iface lo inet loopback

--8< -- snip---

and restart network-manager via ' sudo restart network-manager ' and see
if the problem persists?
