I get an exclamation mark icon with arrows around it... when I click apport starts. I am running karmic. I remember this icon signifies that the server version is different from the local version. is this true? In this case the fact that my laptop was running for several days without rebooting might be the reason? Anyway I don't know. hope my description helps.
