Hilkus: the bug I'm having isn't as you describe. I can type just fine, it doesn't get overwritten. It simply that the autocomplete suggestions don't pop up. Sometimes as I type I can see them appear for a split second then disappear. I can't confirm this, but I think that gnome or compiz or something else is causing them to be drawn *behind* the Firefox window instead of in the foreground. Alt-TABing to another window then back to firefox fixes which window it thinks is in the foreground hence it works again.
