Whoever is responsible, the fact that there are so MANY pointless, unfixed problems is an indictment of Free Software in general. (Absurd overthreading, htop's unclear mixing of userland threads with processes, hundreds of packages depending on consolekit for no particular reason, consolekit being rolled out in major Linux distros before it's actually fully functional.)
