I did some work with some folk from #ubuntu and we found a few things out about this bug.
My problem is with the 32bit PAE kernel. We looked closely at the panic message and it suggested a problem with PAE. So we installed Karmic again with network disconnected. It seems Ubiquity decided i'd be better off with PAE during install, downloads it and installs it. With network disconnected it has to default to generic kernel and installs and boots without incident. People in #ubuntu were suggesting I file a bug against Ubiquity, however I think it's doing what it was designed to do? -- Fresh Install of Karmic, Boot ends with Kernel Panic https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/477050 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
