Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: ubuntuone-client

When starting the Ubuntu One client, no connection is made and no
network traffic is generated on the Internet connection.

I observe the network traffic in the wireshark packet sniffer and see no
traffic in response to starting the Ubuntu One client.
I am not running NetworkManager. I do have the Ubuntu Client PPA in my
sources.list to test whether the problem is also present in a version there.
Aptitude did not show an update available.
