@John Hart This bug was about the floppy drive not detected on boot. Giving "sudo modprobe floppy" (which loads floppy module) in a terminal was a workaround to make it works.
If you tried using that command in a terminal and it didn't work, It's because you have a different bug from this one. So have a look on launchpad if another bug is already opened about your bug. If not, open a new one.
