I have rebooted after running fsck -f (from Karmic on another partition), and now don't see plymouth running at all!
There is no sign of the ubuntu logo, and bootchart does not report it at any stage (the bootchart I attached showed it running very briefly long after the fsck tasks). On the other hand, boot time is now down to 54s, which is almost as good as I've had so far. Normal resolution desktop appears with everything working, except for Metacity as WM instead of Compiz. -- After latest mountall update on Lucid, mountall exits because it cannot connect to Plymouth https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/499519 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
