Public bug reported: Hi,
with current karmic some of my scripts fail that use dmsetup and were working correctly under jaunty. Several dmsetup commands fail with device-mapper: reload ioctl failed: Invalid argument looks as if dmsetup is not compatible with the current kernel. e.g. dd if=/dev/zero of=/tmp/testdisk count=1000 # dmlosetup loopx /tmp/testdisk device-mapper: reload ioctl failed: Invalid argument Command failed (where dmlosetup is a symlink to dmsetup, which is btw. missing in the dmsetup package) # dmsetup create xxxtest --table '0 1000 loop /tmp/testdisk 0' device-mapper: reload ioctl failed: Invalid argument Command failed ProblemType: Bug Architecture: i386 Date: Fri Dec 25 13:46:18 2009 DistroRelease: Ubuntu 9.10 NonfreeKernelModules: fglrx Package: dmsetup 2:1.02.27-4ubuntu7 ProcEnviron: LANGUAGE=en_US.UTF-8 PATH=(custom, user) LANG=en_US.UTF-8 LC_MESSAGES=en_US.utf8 SHELL=/bin/tcsh ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 2.6.31-16.53-generic SourcePackage: devmapper Uname: Linux 2.6.31-16-generic i686 ** Affects: devmapper (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: apport-bug i386 -- device-mapper: reload ioctl failed: Invalid argument https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/500331 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
