Public bug reported: Binary package hint: kdenlive
My sound was very crackly and sometimes delayed when viewing a clip in Kdenlive. I am using Karmic (technically Linux Mint 8) and Kdenlive 4.3.2. This seems to be a fairly common problem in Ubuntu (as suggested by: http://kdenlive.org/user-manual/troubleshooting-and-common-problems /sound-bad-and-delayed) and I found a fix for me on the following forum thread: http://kdenlive.org/forum/audio-distorsion-during-playing See: "ddennedy- I have had some success leaving PulseAudio installed and installing the libsdl1.2debian-pulseaudio package. YMMV. I am not sure why this package is not the default SDL audio backend in Ubuntu: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libsdl1.2/+bug/203158 https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libsdl1.2/+bug/386104 If this works for you, please vote those bugs in launchpad up!" This made the sound work 10x better in Kdenlive, and if it seems to help with those other bugs in the post too I wonder why the libsdl1.2debian- pulseaudio package is not installed by default. ** Affects: kdenlive (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Very glitchy sound using pulseaudio. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/500462 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
