Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: openoffice.org

Tried to create an equation using Insert/object/formula. After typing a
few symbols, the computer locked up. The mouse pointer moved in a jerky
fashion, but clicking it produced no action. Had to power off the
computer to be able to use it again. Every time I use formula to try to
include an equation this happens, making the application useless to
create a scientific document. Please advise on a workaround. Thansk.
