Hi, yes there is. Just compile the Ralink Driver from http://www.ralinktech.com (you must apply my patch before compiling (Sisternicky)) and install it. To compile: - Apply the patch - Edit the os/linux/config.mk and set the following values: HAS_WPA_SUPPLICANT=y HAS_NATIVE_WPA_SUPPLICANT_SUPPORT=y - sudo make - sudo make uninstall - sudo make install - Edit the /etc/Wireless/RT2860STA/RT2860STA.dat and insert the values corresponding to your country. For Germany, this would be CountryRegion=1 CountryRegionABand=1 CountryCode=DE WirelessMode=5
or see http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/WLAN#Frequenzen_und_Kan%C3%A4le for more information and ther you go. you can connect as usual just with networkmanager :) MFG Sisternicky -----Ursprüngliche Nachricht----- Von: boun...@canonical.com [mailto:boun...@canonical.com] Im Auftrag von Vasya Pupkin Gesendet: Mittwoch, 30. Dezember 2009 21:48 An: teise...@web.de Betreff: [Bug 442178] Re: rt2860 doesn't connect on 802.11n wifi I did a lot of google searching and finally found a solution on how to enable 802.11n on rt2860sta shipped with Ubuntu 9.04. If you execute following commands after wireless connection is established sudo iwpriv ra0 set WirelessMode=9 sudo iwpriv ra0 set HtBw=1 it will reconnect using 802.11n protocol. In my case, iwconfig shows ra0 RT2860 Wireless ESSID:"######" Nickname:"RT2860STA" Mode:Managed Frequency=2.422 GHz Access Point: ##:##:##:##:##:## Bit Rate=135 Mb/s The problem is I have to execute these commands every time os is restarted. Is there a proper way to make these settings permanent? -- rt2860 doesn't connect on 802.11n wifi https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/442178 You received this bug notification because you are a direct subscriber of the bug. Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: I'm trying the beta version of 9.10 on my eeepc901 (this model uses the Ralink rt2860 controler) I'm unable to connect my 802.11n network. If I configure my routeur on N mode only, I can't connect at all. But if I configure it on N+G, I can connect in G mode, at 54 MBits/s (instead of the theorical 300MBits/s on N mode). For now I didn't try to install the Ralink driver available on this page : http://www.ralinktech.com/support.php?s=2 (It's the 2.2.0.0 and karmic's one is the 1.8.1.1) To unsubscribe from this bug, go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/442178/+subscribe -- rt2860 doesn't connect on 802.11n wifi https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/442178 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
