The second file (at the URL you posted) seems to be corrupt/invalid. Embedding fonts into a PDF file is normally a good idea, if they are fonts other than those listed in section 5.1 - Standard Type 1 Fonts at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PDF , but in this case:
pdffonts also gives repeated instances of "Error: Mismatch between font type and embedded font file". It also shows that several fonts are embedded, and that these have been defined as Type 1 fonts. I conclude that the embedded fonts are not actually Type 1, but some other type, and have been incorrectly defined. In this particular instance pdfinfo does not provide Creator or Producer info, possibly because PDF version 1.2 does not support these items of metadata? I suggest that you contact the Museu Nacional Arqueològic de Tarragona and ask them to replace the file with a valid, specifications-compliant one. This may mean creating the file using a different tool/method. Make sure you mention the Acrobat error to them as well as the Evince problem. -- evince does not show texts in this pdf documents https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/458007 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
