I have packaged some more kernels and Olie has tested and found the bad commit. Turns out it is this one: http://git.kernel.org/?p=linux/kernel/git/stable/linux-2.6.31.y.git;a=commit;h=7abf3aa8294d95e3f0be375f30e8d933f874ada0
On http://www.kvante.info/855GMfreeze/ there are several test kernels. The important ones are linux-image-2.6.31.1-855gmtest599-git522bb74_gomyhr1_i386.deb 02-Jan-2010 12:43 30M linux-image-2.6.31.1-855gmtest600-git7abf3aa_gomyhr1_i386.deb 02-Jan-2010 10:18 30M The first (599) kernel is the last kernel without the identified commit and the second (600) is the first with the commit. If your problem is the same as Olie's, 599 will work without freeze and 600 will freeze. It would be nice to get this confirmed by others, especially kalessin who is the original reporter of this bug.
