I have the same problem with my HP Compaq. I will be happy to provide more information. But in the mean time can someone tell me how to make suspend and hibernate a noop. I don't want to disable or remove the menu options, I want to make it impossible for any app to trigger them. If disabling is not possible and this issue is not fixed soon I think I will switch to gentoo.
