it seems that Karmic has this same behavior -- can you explain how it is intended behavior of CUPS that, on a default install, "controlled by printout mode" does not work? It should not exist if it is a meaningless option.
My system (9.10 to a HP Deskjet 810C) shows the following behavior: Printout mode: 1. Controlled by 'Printout Mode' a. Draft b. Draft Grayscale c. Normal d. Normal Grayscale e. High Quality Grayscale f. Photo (on photo paper) 2. 300 dpi, color, black + color cartridge 3. 300 dpi, draft, color, black + color cartridge 4. 300 dpi, draft, grayscale, black cartridge 5. 300 dpi, grayscale, black cartridge 6. 300 dpi, photo, black + color cartridge, photo paper 7. 600 dpi, grayscale, black cartridge 8. 600 dpi, photo, black + color cartridge, photo paper 1a-f does NOT work. The only way I can change settings is using 2-8. If on a default install, 1a-f are completely nonfunctional, why do they exist? -- "Controlled by 'Printout Mode'" does NOT work https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/164559 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
