This is a confirmed bug, and apparently, we are expecting Ubuntu's developers to respond on this (and they haven't). I have no doubt this is still reproducible if one is willing to roll back to Jaunty, but this is just not a practical request. I wish this type of bugs can be treated with higher priorities next time.
