Binary package hint: network-manager
This bug was marked corrected, but in Feisty Herd4 it's not repaired.
I tried on my laptop (Dell INSPIRON 6000), and it directly connected it
to my neighbours WiFi.
I tried on my desktop (without any wifi card, only Ethernet), and it was
impossible to configure de network using the network-manager. The only
way I succeed, it was by editing the /etc/network/interfaces file in
order to set my IP Address, mask, and gateway. And editing the
/etc/resolv.conf file, to set my DNS servers.
I also tried on a virtual machine, emulated by vmware, and it was the
same as my desktop PC.
So, I hope you will find something to correct it.
