I can confirm this bug. (Beagle Search 0.3.9 - Ubuntu 9.10 32bit)

beagled-helper will eat up all of the system memory and about 500mb of
the swap, the system will be unresponsive during that time, once
beagled-helper stops whatever it is doing running swapoff and swapon
will return the system to a usable state.

I have noticed this on two workstations out of six.

Luckily on one of the systems I noticed that it occurred right after I
downloaded an image from flickr; and continues to happen on that system
every time I log in (after about a minute delay).

I ran beagle-extract-content on the image in question, which will cause
the problem and attached is the output in question.
