@Hendy, It's turn out that recently I have upgrade my kernel to 2.6.31-17-generic. The patched option.ko that I compile myself is for 2.6.31-16-generic. Today I do this: 1. re-patch the option.ko for 2.6.31-17-generic and copy option.ko to /lib/modules/2.6.31-17-generic/kernel/drivers/usb/serial/ 2. depmod -a 3. disconnect wvdial 4. rmmod usbserial 5. plug-out the modem from usb port, then plug-in 6. This is the dmesg result:
