Well, clearly the kernel guys don't care. I can  blame them - HFS+ is
not quite the most common file system on Linux. They haven't fixed it
after over a year. At this point it's clear they are not going to fix it
just for the sake of an Ubuntu bug reports.

Bottom line: if you care about it, make a patch against the kernel,  get
it upstream, and then wait until Ubuntu gets the new upstream kernel. It
might already be too late for Lucid, I dunno.
