Public bug reported:
If CD/DVD media are inserted into the drive (MATSHITADVD-R UJ-846), they are
not detected (not shown on desktop, rythmbox etc.), although the drive is
detected on dmesg and palimpsest disk utility. Autodetection works fine on
Jaunty and Debian lenny, so it is no hardware issue. devkit-disks --monitor
shows NOTHING during disk insertion, there is also NO entry in kernel log (like
"Jan 8 10:30:06 ubuntu kernel: [ 975.303777] ISO 9660 Extensions: RRIP_1991A"
on an i386 machine).
I'm not the only one affected (see
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1323153), so I decided to file this
bug.
