Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gvfs
When there is an error in some system components, gvfsd-metadata can segfault. You can see one example in my dmesg. In my case, it segfaults after a WiFi problem. See also https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/88746/comments/561 (segfault after USB problem), https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/459978 (another WiFi problem), and also https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-intel/+bug/496187 . Most of these bugs have detailed system information attached. Of course if there is a problem, gvfsd may have an error, but I don't think this justifies a segmentation fault. There must be a common problem the mentioned bugs share when gvfsd does not notice or handle an error correctly.
