Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: compiz

For about the last week, I have often come back to my machine after
leaving it for some time (screensaver has kicked in -- even perhaps the
powersaving on the monitor has kicked in) and I find that my GNOME
desktop has fallen back on the non-accellerated window manager. Running
compiz --replace restarts the window manager and I can carry on as per
usual.

I've never actually witnessed the crash -- I'm just assuming the crash
since I leave the machine with compiz running and come back to no
compiz.

This problem only started to manifest in the last week or so -- about
the amount of time since the last kernel update.

I'm running NVIDIA 195 drivers (I have a GTX260 which doesn't seem to
like the default 185 drivers: machine locks up a lot with that config,
especially if I run a GL-enabled app (ie, game) in Compiz). The 190
drivers were working well for me, but I tried updating to the 195
drivers to see if that was the issue -- the compiz crashes continue
however. I would appreciate any ideas on where to gather more
information to make this report more useful.
