Binary package hint: openssl

An automatic update for the libssl0.9.8 package was suggested, so I clicked 
"Install". After a while, it showed an error with the following:
libssl0.9.8_0.9.8g-16ubuntu3.1_i386.deb corrupted filesystem tarfile - 
corrupted package archive

I'm using Ubuntu 9.10
