Public bug reported: i tracked down the problem to libpoppler1
below is the error message...maybe something is wrong with my setup but i think its pretty standard...should the dependency for libpoppler1 be > rather than = ??? [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~/Encrypted# apt-get install libpoppler1-qt Reading package lists... Done Building dependency tree... Done Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable distribution that some required packages have not yet been created or been moved out of Incoming. Since you only requested a single operation it is extremely likely that the package is simply not installable and a bug report against that package should be filed. The following information may help to resolve the situation: The following packages have unmet dependencies. libpoppler1-qt: Depends: libpoppler1 (= 0.5.1-0ubuntu7) but 0.5.3-0ubuntu1 is to be installed E: Broken packages [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~/Encrypted# ** Affects: kubuntu-meta (Ubuntu) Importance: Untriaged Status: Unconfirmed -- cant install kubuntu from uptodate ubuntu dapper due to dependencies https://launchpad.net/bugs/54543 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
