If you want a cube change the following settins in gconf-editor to:
/apps/compiz/general/screen0/options/hsize: 4 and /apps/compiz/general/screen0/options/number_of_desktops: 1 Then you have a cube. But for me as a nvidia-user, compiz of feisty herd 5 works absolutely bad. Slow, unstable.. simply bad. :-( I cannot use it at the moment.
