Update: As a temporary thing, I opened up the cards of my contacts
with birthdays and anniversary and ticked/clicked them again. This is
so I can enter them as if they are new data.

All my contacts birthdays and anniversaries now show up in the calendar
for the current year that is.

This should be automatic. This is Evolution. This is Ubuntu. This is
Linux. And it's 2010 already.
