I am running ubuntu 9.10. My problem is, I just bought an external
enclosure and installed a 1.5tb sata hard drive in it. I download
torrents using trnasmission directly to the external. What happens is, I
will open transmission with the hard drive connected, it will start
downloading and after a few minutes, the hard drive will unmount
automatically and mount itself again. Transmission will stop and give an
error as a result to that. I tried this on both my laptops Hp DV2622CA
and Compaq R4000. It is not worthy that the hard drive doesn't unmount
it self if for example I am streaming videos from it or copying files to
it. I use transmission 1.75
