Hi,

Edgy Eft 6.10.

It is a fresh install.

Formatted HDD, Boot into live Ubuntu, Install Ubuntu, update (all),
follow this FAQ to get beryl running (1).

The error does not "seem" to be caused by anything in particular - it
just happens sometimes.

It has happened approximately 4 times in the two days I have had it
installed. As it does not interfere with any other programs I have
open, no data has been lost. Select Window Manager -> Beryl will cause
it to load again, and everything goes back to normal.

My system is: AMD Athlon 970Mhz, 768Mb RAM, ASUS A758-XMX m/b, Nvidia
FX5200 128Mb, Seagate 200Gb HDD, Seagate 120Gb.

This has been my first foray into the world of Linux - beryl crashing or
not, I won't be going back. XP made me think my computer was totally
obsolete, but Edgy + Beryl has changed my mind. One wonders what
Microsoft has been doing this whole time... maybe counting money is a
full time job after all.

Sorry for not supplying these details earlier, I was unsure of what was
required and did not want to cause confusion.

I still have the 11Mb file that was generated. I thought firefox had
frozen, so quit out. If it would be helpful I can save it and we can
find a way to get it to you - just tell me where to click (and where to
find the bug file - I have had a look but can't quite remember. Sorry!)

Even if this bug is never fixed I will continue using it - menial tasks
like switching windows, minimizing etc become a joy!

Thank you!

Mike.
