Actually, I see what's going on... you're actually describing normal
behaviour.   The size of the rectangle doesn't include the stroke, i.e.
the 100x100 px dimensions describe a rectangle **with no line around
it**.  When you add a 1 px stroke, the total size of the rectangle
becomes 101x101 px.  This is why the selection tool is displaying that
size.

I'll close this bug report now, but if my conclusion above seems
incorrect then please feel free to reopen it.
