I've just tested this on 9.10 server. Just create the file '/etc/dhcp3
/dhclient-exit-hooks.d/hostname' with the contents:

if [[ -n $new_host_name ]]; then
  echo "$new_host_name" > /etc/hostname
  /bin/hostname $new_host_name
fi

Works!
