I notice this with Openoffice Writer, Kubuntu 9.10. I don't think it is every time it is hibernated. We're not just talking slow .. it is absolutely unusable. Openoffice takes several seconds to respond to every keypress. Restarting Openoffice.org and reopening documents fixes it.
Has been this way for some time. Does not happen every time the computer is defrosted or I would have switches OSes by now.
