I've got a similar modem : ONDA Communication S.p.A. ZTE MF627/MF628/MF628+ HSDPA. The current state in Lucid is : - it doesn't eject automaticaly but doing it with a right click allow the modem to be used by network-manager - I can't connect because de sim code is not used by modemmanager (bug #509738)
