I get the same thing with the Herd5 feisty live-cd. I'm running a Nvidia G-Force FX Dual head card. The loading screen fails during boot and after about 5 minutes of waiting X finally starts normal on one monitor and nothing but flashing colors and lines on the other. Both monitors are the same model of Dell LCD.
