i have the same problem in Ubuntu 9.10 i386 Desktop with OOo 3.1.1 (1:3.1.1-5ubuntu1). I can open and edit the attached file nicely but when i save the file in the same format (doc) and reopen, all the fields are messed up. I see FORMTEXT prepended to each field i modified.
