Hi,

I'm not sure whether it youwas already mentioned here but please
consider disabling the Global Search and the downloading of IMAP
messages in Thunderbird 3.0 by default. I know it's really a neat
feature but it may also create loads of needless traffic on local
networks when people have alot of mail in their inboxes. Also, it keeps
the computer busy when indexing all the mail, especially a caveat on
slower machines.

Any users who need it can enable it again over the menus. Furthermore,
it would be nice to have a checkbox to enable/disable Global
Indexing/Mail Downloading for IMAP in the setup wizard which is shown on
first run of Thunderbird 3.0.
