Hi Mitch, I know I'm a complete newbie at this, and I realize that this may be a really basic problem, but every time I try to type the commands to get ALSA info: ------------------- $ sh ./alsa-info.sh
or if you put it in your ~/bin and ~/bin is in your path and you make the file executable (chmod +x ~/bin/alsa-info.sh) *$ alsa-info.sh ---------------------- I get the following error: bash: $: command not found anyhow, this command obviously worked for me before i made maurizio's fix, because I was able to retrieve the ALSA information url. However, it doesn't seem to work now.
