Matt - Had a look at bug #510866 which now states that a fix has been issued to servers. Just tried registering again at https://one.ubuntu.com and got exactly the same looping behaviour as originally reported.
However, I then tried the alternate https://edge.one.ubuntu.com address mentioned in the last post there. Success! There are obviously some differences between the two servers. Had a minor problem with NoScript not letting me register this PC but that was easily solved by adding a "Accept from one.ubuntu.com" rule to the LOCAL section in NoScript's ABE rules.
