bastafidli: Are you using anything related to the translucency caused by enabling RGBA support in GTK+ as described on <http://www.omgubuntu.co.uk/2009/12/lucid-to-get-aero-style-rgba.html> and in bug #491521? If you did (and installed the packages from ppa:ubuntu-desktop/ppa ), then you should take a look in bug #491521. Why am I asking this? The symptoms you're reporting have shown up previously in relation to these changes.
