I think the duplicate status is wrong, because in that bug the kernel doesn't lock up. I'm not able to switch to another tty because my whole kernel freezes and no key presses are registered any more. Also, I don't have the freeze *when* plymouth is displaying the ubuntu logo but *after* it has vanished. Therefore, I don't think this is a duplicate of 510524. Correct me if I'm wrong.
