Public bug reported:

I have a dell 2650 laptop with 512 memory ... I am running kubuntu 9.04
and I cannot get kernel 2.6.28-18 to boot ... only 2.6.27-16. What
happens is that I get as far as the Boot from - Start up screen ... and
it locks. The 2.6.28-17 kernel used to work prior to the newest upgrade
but I had to manually set grub to boot to it. It seems every time there
is a new upgrade to the kernel it makes it worse to use my laptop.
