Doesn't seem to.  Seems to return information unlikely to lead to
non-ascii characters:

/org/freedesktop/Hal/devices/net_computer
/org/freedesktop/Hal/devices/net_<wifi mac address>
/org/freedesktop/Hal/devices/net_<another mac address>
/org/freedesktop/Hal/devices/net_computer_loopback

... where <description> is replaced by the value described by
description.
