Draycen DeCator, Nigel Babu, Micah Gersten,
thanks for comments!

I have now solved my problem/s/ by reinstalling ubuntu 9.10 from
scratch.

This is what I guess might have triggered my problems:
I installed Java from java.com (I am a new ubuntu user, I was then not aware
of that Java so to speak is present in the form of unistalled though shipped
packages). The installation consisted of two main phases, the first main
phase seemed to have worked out with no problems. The second phase related
to 'Tools' in Firefox; I think this was optional to install. Because I am of
an over ambituous nature, I decided to install that too, and I think that
that was the start of my Firefox problems.

(( It took me a couple of days to get along with the ubuntu installation
process. First I tryed various ways to install from a USB memory stick. No
success. A guy advised me to go for installation via CD instead, it should
be working with a Vista machine. I finally succeeded with my XP machine. By
simply inserting an empty CD, but I had to be logged in as administrator,
then a menu popped up, I selected 'Burn a disc with CDBurnerXP', I inserted
the path to my downloaded .iso file and the CD was burnt, speed 40x, no
problems. Then the installation in my dedicated DELL Linux machine was
straight-forward.))

Cheers

Subject: [Bug 518913] Re: Firefox crashes constantly

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. Please execute the following command, as it will
automatically gather debugging information, in a terminal:

apport-collect 518913

This will help us to find and resolve the problem. Bear in mind that you
may need to install the python-launchpadlib package from the universe
repository. Additionally, when prompted to give apport-collect
permissions for Launchpad you will need to give it at least the ability
to "Change Non-Private" data as it will be adding information to your
bug report. Thanks in advance!

When reporting bugs in the future please use apport, either via the
appropriate application's "Help -> Report a Problem" menu or using
'ubuntu-bug' and the name of the package affected. You can learn more
about this functionality at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/ReportingBugs.

Status in “firefox” package in Ubuntu: Incomplete

Bug description:
Binary package hint: yelp

(this is my 3rd attempt to send a report before Firefox crashes...)

Starting Firefox, it says it has unfortenutely failed restoring windows and
tabs.
Which is claimed usually be caused by a recenlty opened web page.

Two options: 1 restore, nothing seems to happen
2 start a new session. I open a new web page, within 0 to 5 seconds Firefox
crashes.

I have deleted History, tryed to reinstall, remove and install Firefox,
nothing helps.
