It can be solved in a good way (in 9.10 at least) following these steps:

1) Launch systemsettings

2) Go to Advanced Tab

3) File Associations

4) Add a new file association (RDP)

5) Extensión .rdp

6) Aplication: tsclient (usually in /usr/bin)

7) Done and update (and I had to close the session too).

Now, rdp files will be associated that way in properties:
application/RDP (application/RDP) instead of text/plain
