same symptom using Karmic.  The laptop was sitting in screenlock mode
for several hours.  When I entered my password, I noticed networkmanager
was asking me for the WEP key for a connection that has been working
fine before.  thinking it was strange to be prompted all of a sudden, I
closed the dialog box and clicked the network-manager-applet, where my
hidden ssid was listed.  I clicked on it and got in just fine.

I did not expect to be prompted for the WEP key since it was already in
the system.

Attached is the output of `cat daemon.log | grep -i networkmanager`.
The time I noticed the pop-up was Feb 11 20:52.
